Carolyn W. Woods is a lifelong resident of Terrebonne Parish whose life reflects a deep and enduring commitment to caring for others. With more than forty three years of nursing experience, Carolyn has built a career defined by compassion, steadiness, and an intuitive ability to support individuals and families through their most vulnerable moments. Her clinical journey spans emergency care, mental health, hospice, case management, infection control, medical surgical supervision, employee health, and leadership roles within long term care. She also served in executive administration as the Director of Nursing for a nursing home, a role that strengthened her leadership, sharpened her operational insight, and deepened her understanding of how to guide teams through complex and emotionally sensitive environments.

Carolyn's educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an Associate of Science in General Studies, and an Associate of Science in Child Development. This combination of clinical expertise and child focused education reflects her lifelong dedication to understanding both the physical and emotional needs of the people she serves. Her career also includes work as a mental health nurse, hospice nurse, case manager, preschool administrator, business owner, and lead instructor at a medical training school, experiences that broadened her perspective and reinforced her commitment to nurturing others at every stage of life.

She is the mother of six children, including one she lovingly fostered and adopted, grandmother to twenty one grandchildren, and great grandmother to ten. She and her husband have shared forty three years of marriage, building a home grounded in faith, resilience, and generational love. Her family is both her greatest joy and the foundation of her belief that every child deserves safety, stability, and someone who will stand in the gap for them.
